I wanted a new pillow for our couch, and I couldn’t resist picking up this kit! It came at the perfect time too, cause what’s better than hearts for Valentine’s…and especially if they are knit hearts! 😉
Can I first just say how much I love this Neon Pink Wool!! It’s no secret that neon is my jam, and this is seriously the perfect shade. I have wanted to try the We Are Knitters neon colors for a while, so I thought this cutie little cushion would be a perfect place to start! I definitely have future plans for these neons as well!
what you get
This kit comes with one skein of The Wool in your color of choice, size US 19/15mm knitting needles – if you need them – there is also the option to take them out if you already have that size on hand. I did, so that’s the option I went with. It also comes with tapestry needles for seaming and a “handmade by myself” tag! Cute, right?! BONUS items are these adorable stickers you see in the photos!
This pattern uses the garter stitch which gives great texture, and we can all agree that knitting every row gives us that fast-knit satisfaction! 😉 I think this pillow took me about 2 1/2 hours total – including seaming. It’s a great instant gratification knit. And when you are done, you have a super cute cushion to add to your home!
The way the heart takes shape is just so cool! I really enjoyed watching it form. The pattern is easy to follow and a great intro to increases and decreases for beginners! Also, We Are Knitters gives you lots of resources for learning these techniques!
So, there she is! My finished Happy Cushion! I loved working on this fun pattern and I am excited to add it to our couch!
