If you guys caught my top 5 favorite yarn brands post, then you will know that Knit Collage is my all-time fave yarn brand! (You can read that post [here]) I was so excited to get the opportunity to be a part of the Knit Collage spring KAL this last spring! I know it’s a little late to be sharing spring projects, but I thought it was appropriate since the fall knit along is kicking off this week!!

knit along project #1
I purchased the Sunburst Pillow kit. It’s the coolest pillow with lots of detail. I ordered the High Vibes Colorway which included this beautiful Spun Cloud Yarn in High Vibes and the Wildflower Yarn sampler. I had never used either of these Knit Collage yarn styles before and ended up loving them both! The Spun Cloud is loosely spun, very soft and definitely cloud-like, while the wild flower yarn is cotton and screen printed with traditional Indian paisley and flower designs. Both are handmade in India and so so special!!

Each knit along kit comes with yarn wrapped in these beautiful trims. I get so excited to add new trims to my collection anytime I purchase a new skein of Knit Collage! π I actually added some of these collected trims to my Kaleidoscope Sweater. You can read more about that below!

As you can see, knitting the Sunburst Pillow was a true color delight! I couldn’t wait to add in each new row of color! I also love the “sun” rays on the pillow and the crocheted seaming. Since I knit and crochet, I always love to do a little bit of both on the same project. π

This is definitely my favorite pillow in the house! It has a permanent place on the bed in our bedroom. It makes me so happy to see those beautiful handmade yarns knit into a cushion that I use everyday. Such a special piece!
knit along project #2
I didn’t intend on making any of the other knit along projects, but the Kaleidoscope Sweater was calling my name! It was a tough choice between the Sunburst Pillow and the Kaleidoscope Sweater when I was choosing a kit, in the beginning. It’s amazing because you get access to ALLL the patterns that are a part of the knit along – even bonus patterns – when you purchase your kit! So, I was able to use up some of my Knit Collage scraps as well as some other yarn scraps to make the sweater! YAY!!!

I used some of the scraps from the very first Knit Collage skein I ever purchased (it’s that sunny orange and yellow yarn) as well as some leftover Spun Cloud, Wildflower, Dreamland and Friendship Bracelet Knit Collage yarn. Y’all, I don’t waste a bit of Knit Collage. π Can you spot the trims I mentioned earlier? I thought they added such a cute touch to the sweater! I actually have a quick video tutorial below on how I added those trims.

Another awesome thing about the KAL is that you have so many learning resources to help you along the way. So, if you are a newbie knitter or scared of diving into a garment pattern, no worries! They have got you covered! Amy has LOTS of video tutorials for each knit along design. So, you will have everything you need for a successful finished project! I learned the German Twisted Cast On as well as how to work short rows on a top down garment with this Kaleidoscope Sweater
You can find the Kaleidoscope Sweater in the fall KAL as well! It was so popular, that it’s back for another round! And don’t worry, It’s a long sleeve version. π This was such a fast and fun knit! I enjoyed working on it so much!
