Are you like me and CAN’T WAIT to start a new crochet or knitting project?! The struggle is so real when you get that squishy new ball of yarn and fresh pattern. Amiright?! These are my current crochet and knitting WIPS…at least most of them…and my plan for finishing them up!

I thought creating documentation of my current WIPS might help me stay motivated and accountable to finish these projects up! I’ll keep you posted on that. π My hope is that this also may give you some project inspiration as well as encouragement to keep plugging along on your own WIPS. We can do this together!
I used to be so bad about starting projects and never finishing them. I am still bad about starting new projects before finishing old ones. But, thankfully, my track record for finishing has definitely improved! I think one thing that helps me finish a project sooner is not letting it sit unworked for too long. If I let it sit for so long that I have forgotten where I am in the pattern, or I have lost my rhythm, It will definitely be harder for me to find the motivation to pick it back up again. I also find that writing my ideas and the projects I want to start down helps me stay a bit more focused. I can look at that list and decide which project to finish first and which ones can wait a bit longer. Let’s dive into the WIPS!
WIP #1
knit collage plaidtastic scarf
First up on my work-in-progress list is this gorgeous scarf! I started it during the fall 2020 Knit Collage KAL (knit along) after I finished my Plaid Party Cardi. I just can’t get enough of the plaid knitting detail. Isn’t it just the coolest?! You can find the blog post about my finished cardigan [here]! I think I will have enough Knit Collage yarn left over to finish the scarf if I mix in enough of my scraps with it. I am so excited to finish this beautiful accessory! And, I definitely think It will be at the top of the “finish first” list…It does motivate me to be reminded that we are already in the month of March. If I want to wear it this spring, I better get a move on. LOL! π
yarn used:
- Knit Collage Spun Cloud in Lavender Dust
- Knit Collage Mini Sampler Kit in Pot Tart
- Scraps from my stash
WIP #2
boho mosaic granny square chair cover
Next up – You guys may remember my little Boho Mosaic Granny Square from fall of 2020. You can find that free pattern [here]! My plan is to do a whole office makeover and include the granny square covered chair – that I’m making these babies for – in that post. I just love a granny square because you can work on it a little bit at a time. If you only have a few minutes you can at least get a couple of rounds in. Now, I do have to say that I have stayed pretty consistent with plugging along on these. I still have quite a few to go. But I can’t wait to get the slip cover finished. Stay tuned for that!

WIP #3
beaded sweater
Third on the WIP list is this cute and bright beaded sweater! I have been inspired by [this Instagram account’s] beaded sweaters for so long. And, I have been dying to add beads to a sweater ever since! I got this fun bright yarn for Christmas and couldn’t wait to find the perfect project for it! I had lots of these beads left over from my jewelry making days. And, I thought they were a perfect match! After watching a little tutorial from Pinterest on how to attach beads to a knitted sweater, I decided to go for it! My beads ended up being too small for that particular technique, but thankfully I was able to come up with my own.
I actually got the sweater pattern for free from Love Crafts. You can find that [here]. Instead of using the graph in the pattern, I ended up just going with the moss stitch for the whole sweater. I thought the combination of the beads and the moss stitch was just so pretty! One back panel done, half of a front panel and sleeves to go! π

WIP #4
tunisian crochet sweater pattern
For WIP number 4 I have this Tunisian Crochet sweater pattern. This has been in the works for a while and I am so close to the finish line on it! I used the Tunisian Crochet smock stitch. And it gives the prettiest texture! I just love the contrast between stitches on this crochet sweater! Believe it or not, I was actually inspired by one of my husband’s shirts for this design. LOL! I wanted to create the same surfer vibe with crochet. It is a short sleeve design and made with cotton yarn, so I think it will be perfect for warmer weather. I’m hoping to have it ready by summer for y’all! π
yarn used:
- Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton! in Rosy

WIP #5
knitted blanket
Next up is this gorgeous squishy knitted blanket! I used We Are Knitters The Wool in Neon Pink and Ochre. Can you even with this color combo?! π I am also close to finishing this baby and hope to have it ready for you on the blog by the end of March! Some of you may remember the blog post about my friend Tara from shesrootedhome.com and her Handmade Home Challenge. Find that post [here]. Well, there is a suggested item for each month and the challenge for March is blanket or pillow. I thought it would be fun to have this pattern as my project for the month! I do think having a completion date in mind is also helpful for finishing projects! π

WIP #6
child’s knitted poncho
Last, but not least is this child size knitted poncho. I had originally planned on a different project for this yarn, but I think this poncho for my daughter will be adorable…IF I can hurry up and get it finished. π I really love the color combo. And the way the colors blend together on the purl side of this panel is oh so pretty – that will be the back. For the front I am using a bulky textured cotton yarn. I love a good contrast in texture, and I think these yarn will be really great together! I’ll add a fun little embellishment to the front of the poncho as well. I wanted to finish this project while the weather was still cool, but I know for a lot of y’all the weather has already started warming up…sooo, this may be a fall/winter project instead.

My plan for finishing My Current Crochet And Knitting WIPS
Thanks so much for checking out my current crochet and knitting WIPS with me! I hope you gained some inspiration for new projects and also feel encouraged to tackle your own pile of WIPS. I don’t have a set strategy or a limit to the amount of WIPS I will allow myself to have. But, I do try to have at least a few different types of projects to work on at one time. That way, I have a nice variety to choose from and I can pick the perfect one for my mood. π I also always love having at least 1 repetitive project that I can return to if my brain is too tired to think, but I still want to create. LOL!
As far as my plan for finishing these particular WIPS?….I am going to start with the blanket since I have a deadline for that…I better get a move on since I only have 12 days. Haha! Then, I will prioritize the rest by importance. I can’t guarantee I won’t start another one here and there as I’m finishing these up though. Hee hee! Till next time y’all! π
